The Haystack Hi-Tones:

Raymond, Marjos, Annita, Hans, Rolf. The Haystack Hi-Tones started in February 1997, when 3 musicians and 2 female singers decided to gather their passion for 40's/50's music. They really succeeded in bringing back the energy in the music from those days to live.

The result stroke like a bomb! Soon after the band started they were playing all over Holland and they really got successful in countries all over Europe after their smashing debut at the biggest Rock & Roll festival at Hemsby- England.
In april 2000 the band is booked for " Viva Las Vegas". This festival will be the start of their first tour in the U.S.A.

It's a tight band, with steady drums, a virtuoso guitarplayer and a bassplayer who, besides playing his double bass nice & taut also contributes to the vocal part.
The band discriminates from other bands 'cause of the strong vocal variety.
The girls sing together, solo and close harmony or duets with the bassplayer.

They’re proud to have worked with guest-musicians like: Bart -Banjo (Hillbilly Boogiemen),
K.C. Bird (Barnstompers), Jim Knowler (Keytones), Erik van Beek (Barnstompers).
Bart & Erik have joined the band in a few songs on the Hi-Tones CD which is released in August 1999.

Inspired by artists like George Jones, Hank Williams, Rose Maddox, T.E. Ford, , Wanda Jackson, The Davis Sisters, Justin Tubb, Brenda Lee, Charlene Arthur etc., their repertoire is ranging from swinging jive, smashing rockabilly, to authentic Hillbilly, with a touch of old-fashioned country.

Reviews:

Now Dig This- Rock & Roll Magazine - England:

Hans, Raymond, Rolf Annita, Marjos"The Haystack Hi-Tones, high in the popularity stakes, put on a superb show at their Hemsby debut and their rock n roll drive was as hard-hitting as a bulldozer. There was a real power approach to virtually every number, but for sheer youthful exuberance their version of ‘Keep ‘on knockin’’ was the highlight of their show."

Hemsby Review by Rod Pyke:

"… The highlight on Sunday were the Haystack Hi-tones, a girl-led group from Holland who performed a very strong rockin’ set and are destined for bigger things"
